The Stagcom 25th April Roundup

You guessed it, another weekend of pulsating sporting action. Let us run through all the big stories in case you missed any!

Riyad Rules

On Sunday evening, Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez collected the PFA Player of the Year award. The Algerian becomes the first African to win the coveted prize after an outstanding season that has already seen him score 17 times as his Leicester side look to claim the most unlikely Premier League title of all time. Just hours earlier, Mahrez opened the scoring as the Foxes beat Swansea 4-0 to go eight points clear ahead of Spurs. Dele Alli received the PFA Young Player of the Year award after an outstanding debut season in the top flight.

FA Cup Finalists Confirmed

We now know that the 2016 FA Cup Final will see Manchester United take on Crystal Palace after two gripping Semi-Finals this weekend. Anthony Martial was the hero for United as he scored a last gasp winner against Everton in a 2-1 victory to heap the pressure on Roberto Martinez. Palace matched that score to beat Watford in slightly less dramatic fashion, with Connor Wickham scoring the decisive goal on the hour.

No All-English Champions Cup Final

Leicester Tigers' bid to reach the Champions Cup Final was dashed by French side Racing 92. The Parisians, led by All Blacks legend Dan Carter, claimed a 19-16 win that was more comfortable than the score line suggests. Saracens reached their second final in the space of three years after overcoming fellow English side Wasps. Neither Saracens or Racing 92 have won Europe's biggest prize, so there will be a new name on the trophy come May 14.

In Other News: SEGA is back!

Time for a trip down memory lane. In a week where it was announced that Microsoft are stopping production of the Xbox 360, the weekend brought some better news from our good friends at SEGA. A brand new online gaming hub is set to go live on April 28. You will be able to go in and access some classic Megadrive games, such as Golden Axe and Streets of Rage. Result!
