Stag Do Fancy Dress

Stag Do Fancy Dress Do’s and Don’ts

Before delivering the best best man speech anyone has ever heard, the foremost responsibility of the best man is to throw an epic stag party. If you are a wild bunch of fellas, a fancy dress stag do is in order.

However, since you will be partying in public places, it is best to know where to draw the line when it comes to costumes. After all, there is no point shelling out money for costumes that gets you turned away from every pub you visit.

Preparation is fundamental

Doesn’t matter how decent your costumes are, make sure you call the club/bar beforehand to ensure they will grant entry to a bunch of stags in silly costumes. A number of clubs around the globe have certain restrictions when it comes to fancy dress, make sure you’re not visiting any of them.

No need to be offensive

While we agree that a fancy dress theme adds a lot of fun to a stag do, there is no point going overboard. While the idea of the groom strolling the streets in a mankini might seem appealing to the lads, the authorities in many cities think otherwise. In fact, mankinis are now banned in Newquay and Blackpool.

Don’t hold back

When it comes to fancy dress stag dos, participation is the key to success. For instance, if you and the guys have decided upon a horror theme, don’t just show up with some paint on your face and blood/red stains on your clothes. Instead, get involved, rent a costume, spend time on the makeup, go all out!
