The Stagcom 21st September Round Up

Sebastian Vettel wins Singapore Grand Prix, Rugby World Cup shocker, Chris Evans' ex to join him on Top Gear, greatest British comedies of all time.

Vettel and Ferrari First at Singapore

Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari won the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay street circuit on Sunday. The victory came as a huge blow to Mercedes and Lewis, who had his first retirement of the year. It was a fairly comfortable win for Vettel, despite a strong performance from Red Bull's Ricciardo. Raikkonen finished third, with Nico Rosberg in fourth.

It was a drama-packed race, with engine power issues for Lewis and a crazy fan strolling out onto the track and then hopping back over the barrier. Jenson Button collided with Pastor Maldonado, and Nico Hulkenberg with Felipe Massa.

It was another bad day for McLaren, as Fernando Alonso was also forced to retire. McLaren's fourth double retirement of the year will no doubt spark further speculation about Button's future in the team.

Japan Beat South Africa 34-32 in Rugby World Cup Shocker

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/34306306

They said it would never happen. The odds at the bookies were dire. But Japan proved everyone wrong and beat South Africa, 34-32. Japan - a Tier 2 nation - kept one of the most experienced teams on their toes from start to finish. Technically brilliant and tactically strong, Japan have shocked the sport to its core in a game that's currently being called the greatest in Rugby World Cup history. Karne Hesketh scored the winning try.

Why is this such a big deal? Basically because only three teams have ever beaten South Africa in a Rugby World Cup: England, the Wallabies, and the legendary All Blacks. Now there are four.

Holly 'Hot Lips' Samos to Join Chris Evans on Top Gear

According to the Mirror, Chris Evans former radio 'sidekick' Holly 'Hot Lips' Samos is the hot favourite to join him as co-host on Top Gear. Samos cut her teeth as Radio 5 Live's pit-lane reporter, and has worked with and dated Evans. Previous stories about Zoe Ball and Jodie Kidd joining Evans have come to nothing.

When asked about Holly, a BBC spokesperson said the corporation is 'not commentating on speculation.'

Meanwhile, Clarkson, Hammond and May's new Amazon Prime show is reportedly looking for employees. If you're a petrolhead and have the skills to cut it as a producer, assistant producer, production manager, post-production coordinator or fancy being a runner, this is your big chance. The show starts filming next year with a £160m budget.
