Weekday Worldies Olympics Special

The Rio 2016 Olympics begin this week, an event that only graces us every four years. With all sorts of events taking place from sailing to shooting, you would have to be a real sporting nerd to have an interest in every event.

If you're like me, you will need some eye candy to maintain your interest at times. Therefore, I have trawled through the hundreds of athletes taking part over the next few weeks to bring you a Weekday Worldies Olympics Special.

@ellen_hoog

Dutch beauty Ellen Hoog will be representing the Netherlands at the Olympics - playing for the women's field hockey team. We all like a successful woman and the former girlfriend of Dutch footballer Gregory van der Wiel is exactly that! Hoog won gold at the Beijing and London Olympics, respectively.

@mjenneke93

You will be able to see Michelle Jenneke clearing the hurdles on the track in Rio over the next few weeks. The Aussie hurdler is a huge sports fan and her athletic body certainly emphasises that; you can look forward to admiring her body in the minimalistic outfits that the track athletes wear.

@allisonstokke

From an early age Allison Stokke attracted huge media interest for her looks, and was even at the centre of a debate over the sexualisation of women in sport. I'm not condoning that, but the American's looks certainly make the idea of pole vaulting more appealing.

@lerynfranco1

For anyone who wants to question Leryn Franco's inclusion in this list, I realise that the Paraguayan isn't competing. The former javelin star did carry the Olympic torch for Paraguay in the run up to the games and that is enough excuse to include the actress and model for me!

@amberjohill

Can anyone explain to me what skeet shooting is? Well, that is the event that Great Britain's Amber Hill is competing in. The young shooter from Berkshire is one of Great Britain's high hopes for gold in Rio, so even more reason to get behind Amber!
